Here you will be able to see some of our learning and the experiences we have enjoyed at school.

25.04.2016

We have had a busy couple of weeks back at school and are really enjoying learning about the seaside through our topic. In English, we have been creating our own information pages about the seaside throughout history. These are displayed on our writing wall in our classroom and a few examples can be seen below. In Maths, we have had fun telling the time to the hour, half hour and quarter hours. The children particularly enjoyed playing time bingo in groups.

19.04.2016

On Tuesday we had a visit from a police officer during our key stage assembly. We learnt about how to keep safe and found out about the role of a police officer. Mr Goddard even got to try on the vest and equipment but he was later arrested by Owen in year 2!

Football - 26.02.2016

Over the past four weeks the children have been participating in weekly football sessions. These sessions have been run by a football coach and  will continue for the next two weeks. The children are really enjoying this opportunity whilst learning a range of new skills.

Flapjacks - 12.02.2016

As part of our instructions unit, we made flapjacks. In small groups the children carefully read the instructions and measured the ingredients they needed. The results were delicious!!

Explorers Topic - 22.01.2016

Our topic this term is 'Explorers' where we will be focussing on Tim Peake's exploration in space. So far we have researched information, written questions for Tim, created rockets and taken part in our own astronaut training programme! Alongside this we have been learning about our solar system and have created some art inspired by this.

Gymnastics

The children have been using the apparatus in school  to explore moving and balancing in different ways. They have really enjoyed using a range of equipment within their lessons. Over the next 2 weeks we will be linking our movements and balances to make a routine. We will be uploading some videos of these soon.

English - 18.01.2016

In English sessions the children have been looking at fantasy stories. They have shared and discussed a range of dragon stories and will write their own within the next week. To help plan the story, the children created their own fantasy settings using the laptops.

Forest Schools 23.11.2015

We have come to the send of our 6 sessions of forest schools. This week we had as campfire and practiced making our own within our groups. We learnt how to make jam and made some delicious hot chocolate too!

We would like to say a big thank you to Clair who  has planned and delivered all the fun activities over the six sessions.
