House Teams
At East Bergholt CEVC Primary School, every child belongs to one of four houses, fostering a sense of community and friendly competition. The house names, chosen by the children through the School Council, are inspired by the national flowers of the United Kingdom, reflecting the school's love of nature and cultural heritage:
- Red Roses (national flower of England)
- Blue Thistles (national flower of Scotland)
- Yellow Daffodils (national flower of Wales)
- Green Clovers (national flower of Ireland)
Our house system encourages competition, endurance and a determination to reach personal goals and beat personal bests. Children earn points for their house through achievements in various aspects of school life. The house with the most points is awarded the House Trophy at the end of each event, celebrating their hard work and success.
In addition to ongoing competitions, houses have regular opportunities to work together on 'special days,' fostering teamwork and collaboration. This system not only enhances school spirit but also helps pupils develop important life skills and a strong sense of belonging.
