Week beginning Monday 15th June 2020

Hello Year 6, welcome to another week of home/school learning.

You will find your learning plan here as well as any attachments that you will need for this week.

 

If you are coming in to school for 2 days next week, please do not do the work scheduled for that particular day.

 

Mrs Baker and I continue to be so proud of you all, you are working brilliantly well.  If you need any help or support you can ask us if you are coming into school or if you are not, you can ask us any questions on Class Dojo.

 

On Class Dojo, there are some links to East Bergholt High School for those of you who will be going there in September.  Why not have a look and try some of the transition activities.

English - Week 8 - Monday 15th - Friday 19th June

On Monday and Tuesday, your English work is to write the sequel to Floodland.  I would like you to imagine that Zoe's adventure continues.  At the end of Floodland, Zoe had been reunited with her Mum and Dad and her new baby brother.  So, there are now 5 of them in the family (including Munchkin).  Hopefully you have planned your sequel and you can now use Monday and Tuesday's lesson to write your final copy.

 

Why not start from the end of the original novel:

 

'...Zoe gazed at Munchkin, at her parents, and at baby William.  And as she looked at her family, she realised that it had grown.  There were five of them now.  Yes, she thought, five...'

 

You can take your sequel wherever you want.  You can let your imagination go wild as you write what happens to Zoe and her family next.  Mrs Baker and I are really looking forward to reading your sequels.

Here are your 5 Guided Reading pieces for this coming week.  Read one piece of text a day and then answer the questions and mark your own work.  You can choose which piece to do - 1 star, 2 stars or 3 stars.

 

Maths - Week beginning 15th June

Here is your maths work for this coming week.  Don't forget to watch the video first and then complete the activity and then mark your work or ask someone to mark it for you before you upload it.

 

It's really important that you watch the video and pause it as many times as you need to in order to really understand how to complete the activity.

Wednesday 17th June - English

I have uploaded the first paragraph from our new English book underneath.  It's quite short, so read it carefully and then answer the questions from Wednesday's English lesson.
