  I am always grateful to my staff for organising and running clubs in their own time, this term Chess Club with Mrs F has been really successful. Look at all these children enjoying learning chess, brilliant!

  

• Top 8% of schools for Phonics!

  Today we received a letter from the Minister of State for Schools Nick Gibb to congratulate us on our outstanding phonics results for 2017! We achieved a 95% pass rate putting us in the top 8% in the country! Well done to all the KS1/EY staff in school who worked really hard with all the children to get this result. As the letter says 'your success in teaching phonics means your pupils are developing a firm foundation in reading from which they can become increasingly fluent and develop a lifelong love of reading'.

• Young Explorers are OUTSTANDING!

  Many of our children access wrap around care at East Bergholt Young Explorers based in the Children's Centre next to us. They recently had an OFSTED report and have been judged OUTSTANDING in every area! We are very proud and pleased to be associated with Jo, Hayley and the team. Well done to you all. Their report is on our website under their tab which is part of the main Community side tab on the home page.
