Primary Schools build the foundations of positive and enjoyable participation in regular physical activity. East Bergholt Primary School ensures that pupils have access to at least 30 minutes of physical activity during the school day, alongside high-quality PE lessons. Children have the opportunity to experience and participate in a wide range of sports and physical activities.
PE and sport premium grant funding is used by schools to support the aims above.
East Bergholt uses the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of the PE, sport and physical activity that the school provides. The PE and sport premium is used to:
“PE helps us stay healthy, active and confident. I like trying new sports and learning that it is important to keep going and do our best.” – Year 3 pupil
From 2025–2026, the Department for Education introduced a new way for schools to report how they use the Primary PE and Sport Premium. Instead of the previous template, schools are now required to publish a copy of their completed digital report.
The report below explains how we have invested our funding to enhance PE, sport and physical activity at East Bergholt CEVC Primary School, the impact this has had on our pupils, and how we will continue to build on these improvements. It also includes the required Year 6 swimming and water safety information.
