  • Inclusion

At East Bergholt CEVC Primary School, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. Rooted in our Christian vision and values of compassion, respect, justice, trust and courage, we are committed to ensuring that every pupil — regardless of background, ability or additional need — feels safe, valued and able to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. We believe every child is uniquely created and deeply valued and that each one should flourish within a community shaped by generosity, forgiveness and thankfulness.

We are committed to providing high-quality support for all learners, identifying and addressing barriers to learning early through careful assessment, targeted planning and strong partnerships with families and professionals. Our aim is not simply to support children, but to enable them to participate fully in every aspect of school life — in the classroom, on the playground, in collective worship and in the wider opportunities we offer.

Inclusion for us means that every child truly belongs.

As part of this commitment, we use the No Outsiders programme, developed by Andrew Moffat, to teach children about equality and diversity. Through high-quality picture books and thoughtful classroom discussions, we foster belonging, challenge stereotypes and promote respect for differences in race, religion, gender and family structures. We want every child — and every family — to know that they are welcome in our community and that no one should ever feel like an “outsider”.

At East Bergholt, inclusion is lived out daily in our relationships, our curriculum and our collective worship — ensuring that every pupil participates fully and achieves their very best.
