Inclusion

At East Bergholt CEVC Primary School, inclusion is not just something we say — it is something we live every day through our East Bergholt Model. We intentionally foster a strong sense of belonging so that every child feels respected and valued for who they are.

We create rich social opportunities where diversity is celebrated and friendships flourish, ensuring all pupils are fully included in school life. In the classroom, we remove barriers to learning through thoughtful scaffolding, adapted materials and high-quality teaching so every child can access and succeed in their learning.

Our staff provide targeted support where needed, carefully monitor progress and work closely with families and external agencies to ensure every pupil thrives — academically, socially and emotionally.

Inclusion at East Bergholt means every child belongs, every child participates and every child is supported to shine.

We are proud to deliver the No Outsiders programme, developed by Andrew Moffat, which helps our children understand and celebrate equality and diversity in a joyful, age-appropriate way. Through carefully chosen picture books, thoughtful conversations and reflective activities, pupils learn to value every individual, challenge stereotypes and appreciate differences in race, religion, gender and family life.

At the heart of this work is a simple but powerful message: everyone belongs here. We nurture a community where every child feels seen, valued and welcomed — where no one is ever made to feel like an “outsider.”
