    Weaving Wonders in Team 5

Team 5 have been busy getting creative and a little bit knotty in their latest art adventure! They began by exploring the work of textile artist Lesley Richmond, discussing the highly detailed structures, patterns and textures she creates using specific textile techniques.

Inspired by what they saw, the children headed out to the BFG garden to choose flexible branches and make their own simple looms. Yarn was attached to create the warp, and raffia was woven through as the weft.

Pupils then experimented with different colour combinations to create their own woven structures. The results were vibrant, textured and full of individuality – a wonderful mix of creativity, practical skills and outdoor learning.
