Celebrating with sponge, smiles and a splash of history
We had a deliciously fun time celebrating St. George's Day this week, thanks to the wonderful Charlotte and Lorraine in the kitchen!
The children were treated to a beautifully iced sponge cake, proudly decorated with a bold red cross. This design represents the famous St George’s Cross—a red cross on a white background—which is the national flag of England. It is traditionally associated with Saint George and has been a symbol of courage and pride for centuries.
There were lots of excited faces (and sticky fingers) as everyone enjoyed this special treat, making our St George’s Day celebrations both memorable and very tasty.
A big thank you to Charlotte and Lorraine for bringing history to life in such a fun—and delicious—way!
